After fifty-one dedicated years of service, Former Governor William F. Winter retires from the Archives board.
Colleagues from Watkins Ludlam Winter and Stennis joined employees from the Mississippi Department of Archives and History for a retirement luncheon honoring former Governor William F. Winter as he stepped down after fifty-one years of service on the Board of Directors for the department. Kane Ditto will secede Winter as Chairman.
The department collects, preserves, and provides access to the archival resources of the state, administers various museums and historic sites, and oversees statewide programs for historic preservation, state and local government records management, and publications.
