The U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) released a temporary FMLA poster addressing the recently enacted changes affecting leave for military families. It is meant as a temporary mandatory insert to be posted along side your current DOL FMLA poster. The poster provides general information regarding the availability of (1) up to 26 weeks of FMLA leave to care for a spouse, son, daughter, parent, or next of kin service member who suffered a serious illness or injury in military combat; and (2) up to 12 weeks of FMLA leave due to a "qualifying exigency" related to active military duty in support of a contingency operation (e.g., Afghanistan, Iraq). The poster may be found at http://www.dol.gov/esa/whd/fmla/NDAAAmndmnts.pdf.
